presidential image stuffs…
presidential imagery stuff. This is a small clip on some of Obama’s campaign strategy’s…
-Slogan: “time for change.”
-Extra information: Obama uses a very good strategy to attract voters and supporters of all ethnic groups, or ages. He presents an idea of a true equality and a proposition for change, a proposition kind of like a mini revolution. He presents his propagandas and advertisements in a very sympathizing way, orderly and simple. He occasionally speaks like if he was already president, but he doesn’t speak like a dictator, as have many candidates before him, and currently. He speaks to his audience with comprehension and concern. In his ads, he puts the idea of a fair everything, including a fair immigration reform. He uses classic, sentimental, past and present images that can convince us to vote for him. He also uses comparisons and examples that may convince us to vote for him. Instead of reaching out for only one certain audience, he uses ads that focus on everybody, rather than on only one group. Although he has, he doesn’t overdue it, appealed to certain ethnic groups like Mexicans, African-Americans and whites. But we must always remember that he doesn’t always appeal specifically to any groups.
1. “Would…” http://thinkonthesethings.wordpress.com/2008/01/06/video-new-barack-obama-nh-ad-would/
This advertisement in specific targets all people to vote for him. But, at the end of the ad, the ad motivates us to go against political injustice by voting for Barack Obama. This propaganda actually does target one main audience: those who are tired of political injustice, or, of the Bush administration. This audience is searching for candidates who promise changes, who have the same views as them, and support the same things they support. But, this ad has no specific appeal. This advertisement doesn’t appeal to any specific ethnic group, any religion, any gender, or anything else I’m missing up there.
2.This ad, right here, this one, is a shirt design that I found in the internet. This shirt is a propaganda that appeals to those who want change. This advertisement kind of explains the main idea of Obama, in only a few words. It kind of has no limited or specific audience, not any kind of specific message either. It’s mostly designated to a general, everybody. Instead of targeting just any region of Americans (i.e. Southerners, African Americans, Chinese Americans, etc.), this shirt is targeting everybody.
3.This Obama supporting button is also suggesting that the candidate will bring change to the country. This ad is small, and has the candidates name and slogan on it. It has a clear message, and delivers the idea of Obama’s idea of change. This advertisement/propaganda is generalized, and does not target any main audience in general.
